Effective date: October 16, 2026 Version: terms-2026-10-16
Ambrel provides fictional AI companions, not humans. The service is for adults 18 and older and is not medical care, therapy, or an emergency service.
1. Agreement and eligibility
These Terms of Service ("Terms") form an agreement between you and Ambrel App ("Ambrel," "we," "us," or "our"), a California-based service operated as a sole proprietorship. By creating an account, purchasing a subscription, or using Ambrel, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into this agreement. Ambrel is not directed to children. You may not use the service if you are under 18 or if applicable law prohibits your use.
2. The Ambrel service
Ambrel is an entertainment and companionship service that lets you converse with fictional AI companions and, where available, exchange generated images and voice notes. A companion can retain conversational context, preferences, and memories to support continuity across sessions.
Companions are generated characters. They are not people, conscious beings, licensed professionals, or representatives capable of making commitments on Ambrel's behalf. Their responses and generated media may be fictional, incomplete, inaccurate, unexpected, or similar to content provided to other users.
Ambrel does not provide medical, mental-health, legal, financial, or other professional advice. Do not rely on a companion for diagnosis, treatment, crisis support, or emergency assistance. If you or another person may be in immediate danger, contact local emergency services or an appropriate crisis service.
3. Accounts and security
You agree to provide accurate account information, keep your login credentials confidential, and promptly tell us if you suspect unauthorized access. You are responsible for activity performed through your account unless caused by Ambrel's failure to use reasonable security measures.
Accounts are personal and may not be sold, transferred, or shared to evade plan limits. We may require email verification and may restrict or suspend access to protect users, the service, or our providers from fraud, abuse, or security threats.
4. Plans, billing, and cancellation
Ambrel may offer a limited Free Preview and paid plans. Current plan allowances and prices are shown before purchase. The initial Connection plan is $9.99 USD per month and includes up to 1,500 chat messages, 20 generated images, and 10 voice notes per monthly billing period. Daily media limits may also apply. Usage allowances do not roll over unless we expressly say otherwise.
Paid subscriptions are processed by Stripe. Subscriptions renew automatically each month until canceled. By subscribing, you authorize Stripe and Ambrel to charge the payment method associated with your account for recurring fees and applicable taxes.
You can manage or cancel your subscription through the billing portal available in Ambrel. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid billing period, and paid access remains available until then. Payments are non-refundable except where required by law. Deleting an account is different from ordinary cancellation and is described below.
We may change future prices or plan allowances. We will provide advance notice when required, and price changes will apply prospectively rather than retroactively. Taxes, currency conversion, bank fees, or payment-provider charges may apply depending on your location and payment method.
5. Your content and generated content
You retain any rights you have in text, images, audio, and other material you submit ("User Content"). You grant Ambrel and its service providers a limited license to host, copy, transmit, transform, analyze, and otherwise process User Content only as reasonably necessary to operate, secure, support, and improve the service and comply with law.
You represent that you have the rights and permissions needed to submit User Content and that our processing of it as described in these Terms will not violate another person's rights. Do not upload private or intimate material depicting another person without their permission.
Subject to these Terms and applicable law, you may use content generated specifically for you for lawful personal, non-commercial purposes. Generated content may not be unique, may not qualify for intellectual-property protection, and may resemble content generated for others. No trademark rights, publicity rights, or rights in the underlying companion identity are transferred to you.
Ambrel and its licensors retain all rights in the service, software, branding, companion names and identities, interface, and other materials we provide, excluding your User Content.
6. Acceptable use
You may not use Ambrel to:
exploit, sexualize, groom, endanger, or create sexual content involving any person under 18;
create or distribute non-consensual intimate imagery, impersonate another person deceptively, or violate privacy, publicity, copyright, or other rights;
threaten, harass, stalk, defraud, or facilitate violence, abuse, trafficking, or other illegal conduct;
upload malware, probe or bypass security controls, disrupt the service, scrape it at scale, or access another person's account;
reverse engineer or extract models, prompts, training data, private system instructions, or companion identity assets except where the law expressly permits; or
resell the service, automate access without permission, or evade quotas, suspensions, or billing controls.
We may remove content, limit features, suspend access, or close an account when reasonably necessary to enforce these rules, protect others, comply with law, or preserve service integrity. Where practical, we will provide notice and an opportunity to contact us.
7. Account deletion
You can permanently delete your account from Ambrel's plan-and-usage controls. Deletion is irreversible. If an active Stripe subscription is linked, Ambrel first requests immediate cancellation and will stop deletion if the billing provider does not confirm a definitive canceled state, helping prevent billing from continuing behind a closed account.
Successful deletion revokes sessions; removes login credentials, contact details, companion memory, conversation content, private image and voice files, reminders, notifications, and active feature grants; and removes Stripe customer and subscription references from the Ambrel account.
We retain a minimal non-login tombstone identifying that an internal account was deleted and when. Versioned consent records may be retained for legal and audit purposes after request metadata is removed. De-identified aggregate usage may remain for financial and operational accounting. Stripe may retain transaction records under its own legal obligations. See the Privacy Policy for more detail.
8. Availability and changes
Ambrel is an evolving service. Features, companions, models, allowances, and availability may change. We may perform maintenance, address outages, or discontinue a feature. We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free availability, permanent retention of any particular generated item, or compatibility with every device.
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be presented through the service, by email, or through another reasonable notice before they take effect when required. The effective date and version at the top identify the Terms presented for acceptance.
9. Disclaimers and liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Ambrel is provided "as is" and "as available." We disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and accuracy. Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties or rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Ambrel will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenues, data, goodwill, or opportunities arising from your use of the service. Ambrel's total liability arising from the service will not exceed the greater of $100 USD or the amount you paid Ambrel during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. These limitations do not apply where prohibited by law or to liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
10. General terms and contact
California law governs these Terms without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute that is not resolved informally will be brought in a court with lawful jurisdiction in Los Angeles County, California, unless consumer law requires another forum. These Terms do not require arbitration and do not waive rights that cannot legally be waived.
If one provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not transfer this agreement without our permission; we may transfer it as part of a reorganization, financing, asset transfer, or change in business form, subject to applicable law.
